Glen Sax as seen from Birkscairn Hill, Peebles, Borders, Scotland

In this scene, Peebles is lost in the heat haze of an unusually warm Easter Sunday in April 2019. The photo was made on the way towards the midpoint of hill wandering circuit around Glen Sax. There had been a few unsuccessful attempts with available time and weather requiring truncation on those occasions. The latest and successful attempt surprised me with its length because I expected it to take longer. Other circuits have been published, but these must have had a diversion near their ends to get them longer than my seven hours. That of itself may seem long, but I was expected to need eight or nine of them and I do not consider myself to be that speedy. After all, beguiling weather allows for many stops like the one that produced the picture that you see above.
