Looking towards Glentress Forest from Craig Head, Peebles, Borders, Scotland

Heat haze bedevilled photography on the Easter Sunday when I finally walked over the hills surrounding Glen Sax near Peebles. The weekend was a warm one, and I imagined that extraneous moisture was being evaporated from those hillsides. The ground was dry too as I followed the old drover's road whose impression can be seen the ground as a band of green in the above photo. This was near the start of what became a satisfying hike in good conditions that was shorter than expected too, so I was able to get back to my lodgings in Edinburgh before darkness fell.
