Arrochar Alps from Tom Beithe, Rowardennan, Stirling District, Scotland

Looking north from the same beach that we met previously gains you vistas featuring hill country beyond Tarbet. The slopes in shadow are those of the foothills of Ben Lomond; Tom Fithich and Ptarmigan come to mind. Because there is a twist in the loch near Tarbet, you need to be careful to identify correctly what you are seeing. Without realising, I could easily have presumed that I was seeing some of the Crianlarich hills. On the contrary, it seems that Arrochar Alps are the towering behemoths lit up by the morning sunshine.
