Beinn Achaladair, Black Mount, Argyll & Bute, Scotland

It's so easy to spend this part of the West Highland Way ogling the craggy hills of the Black Mount that taking your eyes elsewhere to see other sights can become a rare event. Those other sights include the hills further east as well as over Rannoch Moor itself. We are sticking with the eastern hills immediately to the south of that great expanse with the photo showing Beinn Achaladair, the higher of the two mountains in the background and with its ridge-like profile, and Beinn a' Chreachain. The name "Beinn Achaladair" means hill of the field by the hard water and the mountain is part of a semicircular range that both comprises several Munros and separates Glen Lyon and Loch Lyon from Bridge of Orchy, Rannoch Moor and the Black Mount. I have never immersed myself in these parts, but I think that I should at some point.
