Meall an t-Suidhe, Glen Nevis, Lochaber, Scotland

From Glen Nevis, it is much easier to see Meall an t-Suidhe than Ben Nevis and this is close-up view of the former from January 2006. This was my first midwinter visit to the Scottish Highlands and allowed me to see why so many of Colin Prior’s photos feature Scottish hills with their flanks coloured brown. More visits were to follow outside the summer season, so I now know well that green-sided Scottish hills can be a seasonal feature.
