Sgurr a' Mhàim & Stob Bàn, Glen Nevis, Lochaber, Scotland

Any glance into the throat of Glen Nevis from the Loch Linnhe direction will present a full-frontal view of Sgurr a' Mhàim in the background. Its white quartzite cap (which I thought was snow when I first saw it) has captivated me since I first laid eyes on it during a stroll in the glen in 1998. And that is saying something with all that is on offer here (the mountain is a far more obvious feature in the glen than Ben Nevis itself): views of wild mountains tamed in places by vegetation. This is an August view from 2002 when foxgloves and rosebay willowherbs were still flowering in abundance. A spur of Stob Bàn also can be seen here though a more attractive view may be available from nearby Lairig Mor.
