Stob Bàn, Lairig Mor, Lochaber, Scotland

Stob Bàn, Lairig Mor, Lochaber, Scotland

I first laid eyes on this scene while on a summer break in July 2003. That day was cloudy and was the only dry day that I encountered on my stay in Fort William (the wetting that I got should put me off forever, but I still return and plan to continue doing so; maybe you can see why). I still saw the potential and returned on the last weekend in August of the same year and captured the photos that you see here. You are seeing the sort of view that abounds here. The spectacular white cap of Stob Bàn is really set off the greens, purples and browns of the landscape in the Lairig Mor with the mountain in question forming part of the formidable barrier between the pass and Glen Nevis, where we are going next.
