The West Highland Way literally descends into Kinlochleven only for it to climb out again, though you probably will overnight before continuing in which direction you are proceeding. Either ascent is not for the unfit, and descents require due care and attention. Here, the direction was southbound, so there was a descent ahead of me. This image made on the Kinlochleven side of Tigh-na-sleubaich and Stob Bàn with Stob Coire na h-Eirghe on the left. Before the present digital captured scene took its place here, there was another showing a northern view from a vantage point not far from Kinlochleven while I was going towards Fort William, reprising a grey hike under bright blue skies, setting to rights any disappointment from earlier that year because of a rain soaked week in the West Highlands.
