It was after an evening meal and a spot of clearance of extraneous photos from SD cards to make space for more that I went out for a stroll west from Lochboisdale. The absence of a sound was both eerie and typical of my stay on south Uist. If you are after undisturbed peace and tranquillity, this clearly is a good place to come. Roads only come alive when the ferry arrives from Oban or leaves for there as I discovered, and the tourist opens to accommodate these times too, especially for those later evening arrivals.
