Looking up Loch Seaforth, Ardvourlie, Harris, Western Isles, Scotland

Ardvourlie was the starting point for both of my hill country walks on Harris and here is a scene from the first of these, a stroll to Tarbert along part of the Harris Walkway. While I was heading south, this is a northward view along Loch Seaforth with Eilean Shìophort to the right. Despite appearances to the contrary, this sea loch opens out to the sea to the south of here near Loch Màraig and does not extend indefinitely in a northerly direction. It is amazing how an indented coastline can fool you.
