Luskentyre, Harris, Western Isles, Scotland

This probably is one of the most famous views in the Western Isles and its having appear in so many other places has done nothing to stop my including it here. Then, the scene was very new to me anyway and seeing it in person was all the more magical an experience. At the time, I was en route from Tarbert on Harris to Lochboisdale on South Uist and the coach thankfully stopped in enough places for to allow for photos like this. The shallow waters make the scene look positively Caribbean yet much of Britain and Ireland was beset by rain, which shows just how different the weather can be around here.
