Palmhuset, Trädgårdsföreningen, Göteborg, Sweden

It was only after my short encounter with Göteborg in 2017 that I got to realise how near its more substantial green spaces were. A stay longer than a few hours would have been needed to get me as far as exploring these, so it was a matter of finding what was nearer to hand in the time that was available.

Though it is not far from the city's main train station, the spontaneity of my rambling meant that it took me quite a while to reach Trädgårdsföreningen, and it was worth the effort. The green space may not have been as expansive as what you might find around Stockholm, but it was not less welcome a sight for that. In any future visit, those larger spaces on the outskirts will await exploration, and this was a good start on the sunny afternoon that I had.
