Sugar Loaf from Abergavenny Castle, Monmouthshire, Wales

Another view from the near castle gates but this time facing west. The Sugar Loaf is in the background with Victorian town hall dominating the right of the picture. Abergavenny is a mixture of old and new as regards architecture. A walk through its town centre is well recommended. While it still retains its rural feel, it is nowadays also a base for commuters to and from south Wales, a fact no doubt helped by regular services between Manchester and Cardiff calling at its rail station.
