The little village of Llandynan is lost among trees in this scene even if you might make out white specks to the right of centre in this photo. It is not that the surrounding hills are that lofty either for heights around 500 to 600 metres above sea level are among the highest that you will get. That still gives a feeling of elevation and a sense of wandering about hill country as I was doing when greeted with scenes like this. It was on a crisp Sunday in January 2014 when I encounter such sights as I made for Moel y Gamelin on a circular walk from Llangollen.
