Here's a piece of advice for anyone fancying a weekend around Dolgellau during the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, do bear in mind that I met up the annual Cadair Idris hill race on the weekend from which I brought away the predecessor to this photo. It then showed that decamping to Machynlleth was no obstacle to enjoying a circular walk starting and ending in the fleshpot that is Barmouth. The stiff pull up from sea level must have put off the more sedentary because there were plenty of quieter corners to be found.
The current image dates from 2018 when a warmer summer caused more dessication and the hot day only deterred others from getting further afield. Even so, it featured another visit to Cerrig Arthur and this granted decent views towards Cadair Idris. In other places on the hike, there were others up and down the Welsh coastline as well as the Mawddach estuary.
