Rice Lake, North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

After several days of exploring more urban parts, it was time to venture into more natural surroundings. Because of the extensive forest coating of the land, there was plenty of shade from the summer heat even if it limited opportunities for photography. Then, there was the chance of meeting with wildlife like black bears and that concentrated my mind somewhat. However, I chose a Sunday and a location near North Vancouver so that provided its own share of reassurance. Solitude normally is sought, but this was a time when company was appreciated.
