Bolinas Ridge, California, U.S.A.

It is hard to avoid meeting with San Andreas Fault on a trip to San Francisco Bay Area. On my explorations, it was hardly noticeable, even if this view carries the eye east across its line. That is not to say that it has no effect on the lie of the land, for both Bolinas Lagoon and Tomales Bay bookend its demarcation in Marin County.

Bolinas Ridge shadows the fault from north to south as far as Mount Tamalpais State Park, which could have meant that I mounted it while hiking from Stinson Beach to Pantoll Campground. This scene was captured in Point Reyes National Seashore though, and it was too far away for further explorations and I had other plans anyway.
