Crissy Field Marsh, San Francisco, California, U.S.A.

Crissy Field was among the first places that I visited during my stay in San Francisco. This photo comes from a few days later on the evening of the day that I went to Angel Island. Now managed by the U.S. National Park Service, this was an airfield used by the military, and it gets its name from a pilot who died during the effort to fly across the U.S.A. coast to coast. These days, its uses are few more leisurely with many choosing to jog in the area while others walk and take in sights like Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge.
