Dipsea Trail with Bolinas Bay and Stinson Beach, California, U.S.A.

If I had played my cards right with transportation, there would have a Saturday trip to Stinson Beach for a circular hike taking in parts of the Dipsea Trail, the Steep Ravine Trail and the Matt Davis Trail. The last of these looked particularly alluring on a brief encounter, even if a steep descent would have been my lot. Instead, I was there on a Monday and buses finish earlier for the day away from the weekends. Thus, I made my way from Stinson Beach to Pantoll Campground, pottered around for a bit before awaiting my bus back to Sausalito.

Given the heat, that might have been wiser, particularly given that the bus driver stopped to help someone who was looking the worse for wear and needed emergency service attention. While I was concerned about making my ferry from Sausalito to San Francisco, it was curious to see a fire service callout for a paramedic assessment and intervention. That ferry was made in plenty of time, so there was little need for worry in the end. A bus could have been used instead if it came to that, and it was better that someone got the help that they needed.
