Fort Point, San Francisco, California, U.S.A.

On the Friday of my stay in San Francisco, I found myself button holed by a homeless man telling of the woes of his life. After what felt like a long time, he asked for money and was happy with what he got from me. Yet, I felt the need to get away, hardly made easier by thoughts induced by my experiencing the pandemic.

This caused me to catch a bus going in the wrong direction (San Francisco buses indicate their direction of travel on their sides and not on the front; when others fell into the same trap that beset me, I advised them to disembark and do what I did not do myself) with stubbornness making for a long walk back to the hotel instead of trying for a bus going in the right direction. Even with failing light and thoughts about the edginess of where I was, I made it to my lodgings without mishap. Before all that, this sight took my attention near the close of what largely had been a good day for me.
