Wildcat Canyon Regional Park, El Cerrito, California, U.S.A.

Various names appear on USGS maps for the hills comprising the East Bay Parks. The legends near where this photo was made include Berkley Hills and San Pablo Ridge. Beyond the San Pablo Reservoir, there is the Sobrante Ridge. Unsurprisingly, that is near the conurbation of El Sobrante.

If I had gained some height, I might have got to see a bit of all that, but that was not my mood at the time. For one thing, there was the heat of the day, yet the real cause was an added sense of lethargy, perhaps caused by all the traipsing that I had been doing. Thus, I was content to follow the track through Wildcat Canyon Regional Park to Tilden Regional Park instead.

As if the parched state of things was not evidenced enough by yellowed grasses and dessicated greenery, a passing small John Deere tractor kicked up so much dust that it was amazing to see. Maybe, the sleepy ambience had something to do with that lethargy as well.
